Apple tests larger screen sizes for iPhone and tablets

Software manufacturer Apple is reportedly testing larger screens for its iPhones and iPads.

According to the Fox News, officials at the company's suppliers said that Apple has asked for prototype smartphone screens larger than 4 inches and has also asked for screen designs for a new tablet device measuring slightly less than 13 inches diagonally.

Currently the screen size of iPhone 5 is 4 inches, and iPad has a 9.7- inch screen while the iPad Mini has a 7.9- inch screen.

The report said that Apple spokeswoman declined to comment on the matter.

Recently, there have been speculations that Apple would delay the launch of its latest iPhone 5S from September or October to the end of the year owing to change in its screen size from 4-inches to 4.3-inches. (ANI)
